DIRECTIONS
Traveling east on the A47 towards Swaffham, from King's Lynn turn right into the village of Narborough. It may be worth a short stop in Narborough by the Trout fishery and river from March to August. this is one of our best sites for Grey Wagtail. (parking is restricted!) After passing the church take the first right. The reserve is a couple of miles along this road on the left. The entrance is just after the dismantled railway bridge!
This 6 hectare nature reserve is jointly managed by Norfolk Wildlife Trust and the British Butterfly Society. Butterfly enthusiasts will have a field day here during summer months, at least 26 species have been recorded. It is also at this time of year when it is best for birds. The surrounding scrub provides an ideal feeding and breeding habitat for a range of finches and warblers. Willow, Garden, Blackcap, Common Whitethroat and Chiffchaff occur in good numbers. Turtle Doves can also be seen and heard on balmy summer days. During winter the bushes are alive with feeding flocks of Redwing, Fieldfare and Blackbird.
